EUTHはアメリカ合衆国ワイオミング州ララミーのカオティック、既にその街どこですか?って感じなんだけどアメリカのど田舎の小さな街。そして地形的には山に挟まれた場所でこういった場所でパンクバンドをやるにしてもメンバーが集まりにくく難しいのは日本でも同じなんだけど、偶然の目が出揃ったときに奇跡の配合が起こる。EUTHは確かにScreamoかもしれないが、カオティックであり、そしてUS激情のどのシーンにも属していないような孤立性を感じる。音使い、ビート、抽象的な歌詞、それらが狙っているのかいないのかわからないが現行バンドが蓄積していくScreamoシーンのルールを裏側から解体していく。かろうじて抽象的な歌詞から読み取れるのは、一見厨二病的なストーリーテリングに見せかけた世の中への皮肉。特に「Anomic Death」には空虚な仲間意識に流されることなく毅然とした態度を音として貫く意思が見える。 MZTN
